Anwen was born in Hillbrow, Johannesburg in 1970. She come from a very liberal family, and growing up in Apartheid South Africa, she refused to accept the Apartheid laws which went against everything she believed in.
In 1986 Anwen’s mother remarried, and she was forced to leave South Africa at the age of 15. She has been living in Switzerland ever since, but still has an extremely strong connection to South Africa.
Anwen have strong concerns about the future of South Africa, and this has motivated her to join the DA. Anwen believes that the DA is the only party that offers a future for everyone; freedom, fairness and opportunity for all. And she believe it is her duty to give something back to the beautiful country that she loves, to connect with South Africans abroad and make them realise that they can make a difference.

Merlin hails from Mitchells Plain in the Western Cape. During his childhood years in the 80’s and early 90’s, he experienced and observed institutionalized oppression on his community and family. These unjust experiences have instilled in him a desire to work towards a Fair, Just and Equal society in South Africa.
He is of the firm believe that this is only achievable through strong opposition politics or coalition politics. He is of the view that the Democratic Alliance, is the only Party in South Africa that can manage this vital role.
Merlin, holds a Higher Diploma in Education from the University of the Western Cape and a Master’s Degree in Finance from the University of Salford. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Merlin is currently employed as the Regional Commercial Head for the Steiner AG group in Zurich Switzerland. He was formerly employed as a Project Finance Manager for Alstom, and Finance Controller for the World Econonic Forum in Geneva.

St Gallen, SwitzerlandRod was born in Cape Town and moved to Johannesburg in the late ’80s. A few years later, he started an IT Consultancy business which he still now manages from St Gallen. Rod has traveled extensively and always looked forward to the return journey to my friends and family and my home in Boksburg. And then one day that changed, and after years of deliberation, he decided to make Switzerland his home.Rod believe’s that only the DA is able to return our country to a state of order where those who serve the people, are accountable to the people.And that the DA can restore and uphold the legacy of Nelson Mandela: Peace, Hope and Dignity.
