Travis was born in Johannesburg and grew up in Durban before attending Pretoria Boys' High School and going on to study Engineering at the University of Pretoria. His interest in politics and the Democratic Alliance began at university where he became active in campus politics and the 2009 national government election campaign. Immediately after graduating, whilst working in Benoni, he joined the local DA branch and also started a local DA Youth branch, taking a keen interest in regional DA activities. This was soon interrupted by love and he moved to Windhoek in Namibia where he is now working as a consulting engineer. Eager to continue contributing to the future of South Africa, he has joined the DA Abroad and starting a local branch in Namibia.

Apart from politics Travis is studying towards a diploma in finance and enjoys spending time in the beautiful Namibian outdoors. He believes that every South African can and should be making a difference to the future of their country and local communities, and that the most powerful way to achieve this in the political sphere.
